Five Things I Wish I Knew the First Day I Used Tableau – Presented by Ryan Sleeper
6:00 – 6:30 PM
This is a brand new presentation for Ryan, who says he was inspired to cover the topic after being asked how to get started with Tableau several times following recent conference presentations at Tableau and eMetrics. His hope is that sharing a few key Tableau concepts will reduce the learning curve for any beginner. Ryan is Evolytics’ Director of Data Visualization, KC TUG founder, and 2013 Tableau Iron Viz Champion. This session will discuss:

• Which Tableau license is best for me?
• Connecting to data and the ideal data structure for Tableau
• The difference between a dimension and a measure
• The difference between discrete and continuous fields
• A live walkthrough of how to build popular corporate chart types
