It has been a full and vibrant year at Evolytics, and the business has grown in part because our team is strong.  That strength is built on relationships.  It is not all work – relationships are built in and out of the office, and Evolytics plans some great activities that we all enjoy.
Here are the top 10 events of 2014:

Evolytics at Taco Tuesday10. Taco Tuesdays

Once a week we all hop over to Rancho Grande for an array of Mexican food; it’s not all tacos.  Lively conversation and a nice break in the day add to the lunch.

To learn more about this Tuesday tradition, see our other post https://evolytics.com/blog/taco-tuesday-evolytics-tradition/.

9. Evolytics at the K

Evolytics is good at spotting trends.  Clearly we were ahead of the curve when we picked the winners in June.  We all went out to the K (Kauffman Stadium) to watch the Royals best Colorado in a 3-2 nail-biter.  On the way to the game we picked up BBQ at a local joint for a tailgate.

8. Champagne Friday

A gift of a jeroboam of champagne prompted a Friday celebration with chocolate dipped strawberries.  Wimbledon? No! We drafted our NFL fantasy teams as we sipped champagne.

Evolytics Donut Taste Test7. Doughnut Taste Test

The question was..who has the best doughnuts in Kansas City?  Evolytics was determined to find out.  There were 3 categories: glazed, blueberry/orange cake, and specialty doughnut.  We sampled them all.  The winners were:
Glazed: Lamar’s
Orange/Blueberry Cake: Fluffy Fresh
Specialty:  Krispy Kreme
Overall: Lamar’s

President Obama in Parkville6. President Obama comes to Parkville

After an exhausting morning of tasting doughnuts, a few team members headed across the street for a coffee refill.  Unbeknownst to everyone, President Obama stopped by the local Parkville Coffeehouse on his way out of town.  Tasting doughnuts and meeting the president made for quite a start to the day!

5. Rose Brooks

Giving back to the community is a very important part of the culture at Evolytics.  This holiday season, the Evolytics crew spent time helping the women and families at Rose Brooks who came from violent homes.

Evolytics BBQ Taste Test4. BBQ Taste Test

Kansas City is known for having some of the best BBQ in the country.  But who in Kansas City has the best brisket?  Evolytics put five of the top BBQ joints in town to the test.  The winner of the BBQ Brisket Taste Test was Q39.  Next up, Evolytics will determine who has the best ribs!

3. World Cup

While many Americans around the country were taking “sick” days or sneaking in long breaks to watch the USA team in the World Cup, Evolytics showed their American spirit and headed over to the local pizza joint.  The team enjoyed pizza together while watching the US suffer a close 1-0 loss to the Germans.

Evolytics at The American2. Holiday Party

Each year, Evolytics plans an amazing holiday dinner for the team members and their spouses; 2014 was no exception.  Evolytics took over a large room at The American, overlooking beautiful Crown Center.  The evening was filled with fun conversation, amazing food, and lots of drinks!

Evolytics at the K1. World Series

I had been waiting my ENTIRE life to see the Royals make the postseason.  When the Royals made it to the wild card game, several Evolytics team members headed out to the K.  During an afternoon of tailgating, none of us could imagine an ending to this game that would allow the Royals to make it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series.  In a 12-inning, 9-8 win, the Royals finally made it to October.  A few weeks later, several Evolytics team members packed up their tailgating gear and headed off to Game 7 of the World Series.  While the game didn’t go our way that time, the World Series was definitely the top Evolytics event of 2014.
