Evolytics is proud to be a part of the Kansas City community, and one way we show that pride is an annual volunteer day.
This year, we spent an afternoon at Harvesters – The Community Food Network. Harvesters’ mission is to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow. They provide food to more than 620 not-for-profit agencies, including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes and others.
Afterward, everyone gathered at Chicken N Pickle, a North Kansas City favorite for food, drinks, and fun. Teams showed off their competitive side, playing Giant Jenga and Bags. Of course, this team meeting had a couple celebrations. First, everyone was excited to toast to becoming Quanties Finalists in four categories. The monthly Evolving Analytics Award was given for work evolving a client’s monthly reports from PowerPoint to Tableau, which not only saved hours of manual labor, but enabled analytics deep dives.
The Evolytics team spent an afternoon volunteering at Harvesters in downtown Kansas City. 
Teams were given tasks such as packaging carrots, potatoes, and cereal. 
Analysts and data engineers worked together to sort sweets. 
The developer team quickly proved themselves to be master box makers. 
Team members were able to bond over favored potato shapes. 
Well, someone has to make sure the assembly line is running smoothly. 
We learned some team members have competitive streaks. 
Other team members are just game to have fun. 
Who won the developers vs. data viz matchup? 
After volunteering, the team relaxed at Chicken N Pickle. 
The Evolytics team bonded over lawn games.
