The Tealium team wanted to bridge the gap between online and offline data using Internet of Things beacons, and the results were impressive. They created a measurement plan to define success and decided how they could use what they learned about their customers. For instance, visitors who spent a lot of time at the bacon station were sent bacon-centric gifts after the conference.
They leveraged a variety of technologies to implement tracking and stored it in their Universal Data Hub, where they could enrich customer profiles and act upon the data in real-time.
After collection, the data was continuously analyzed so new models could be created, tested and launched.
“For future events, we have learnings that will allow us to automate certain experiences while we monitor others. Now that we know what a bacon lover looks like, we can automate marketing actions to happen once bacon fandom is established.
